15 month stats

At his 15th month checkup, Carter weighs 26 1/2 pounds and is 33 1/4" tall. He is in the 90%ile for height and only the 70%ile for weight, but probably because he is on the move so much. He loves to climb, on anything. Any time he sees the gate open on the stairs, he bolts for his chance to climb up. We let him climb on his way to the bath every night and now he even stops at the first step and goes back to close the gate. He is trying to talk and will just babble on and on more and more every day. He LOVES to eat and can even climb up into his high chair by himself. Although he has learned to throw balls quite well, and carries that over to the table. When he feels he is done, he starts to throw his food. Mason loves this so his laughter only encourages it (any advice to end this mealtime madness is welcomed!!!).

Carter Rocks

Cookie Monster

Have we mentioned what a little cookie monster Carter is? His favorite seems to be Oreos, which gives him a bit of facial hair, don't you think?!!

Christmas Part III

Carter still enjoys the gift bags more than the actual gift, and wants whatever Mason has. He's getting into animals and the Little People like Mason. He really enjoyed spending time with his cousins, and he was so energized but them being here. He's such a happy baby! He's trying to talk more, points a lot, and even grunts and screams a little to get his message across!

Christmas Part II

Carter got some books of his very own from Santa and a lot of colors and coloring books, but he still wants whatever it is that Mason has, and Carter doesn't realize that he's the LITTLE brother (although he's not much littler in size these days!).

Christmas Part I

Carter took a while to get into the whole "unwrapping" presents mode. He just wanted to play with his new animals! He got a really cool chair from Whamie and Pepaw, and Mason got his own chair so now no more fights over who is sitting where in the playroom!

Sights and Sounds

We met Sissy, Haylie, and Luke in San Marcos to see all the Christmas lights and visit Bethlehem. It was quite a cold night, perfect for seeing the lights, so we were all bundled up. The boys got to break in their new wagon from Whamie and Pepaw - yeah!!! Haylie even got to try it out a bit.

One Year Old!

A little late on the upload for these . . . here's Carter's first birthday pictures. He wasn't feeling too well (ear infection we found out later!) so he wasn't he usually smiley self, but some good pictures nonetheless. We'll do more later when he's all smiles!

Silly Mommy!

Mommy's school goes all out for Halloween! They have a storybook character parade, and so here's a picture of Mommy's first grade team. They are SUPER TEACHERS! I think Mommy's a super teacher everyday! She sure does like her new friends and school (but I know she misses her old friends/school, too).

Happy Halloween!!!

Here's our little dragon! The first picture is Carter first thing this morning at school, he didn't mind the costume but wanted us to stay! Then there's the picture of him trick-or-treating, and just trying on the costume. This was such a great little costume (ebay find!) - so big and rolly polly, just like Carter!

Too Much Fun at Whamie and Pepaw's!

It was a long weekend for us, and Carter finally had as much as his little ole self could take! After lunch, he just crashed at the table! Mason had himself a little nap in the recliner!

Pumpkin Patch

We made it to the Pumpkin Patch! Carter was a little too interested in wathcing the tractor hay rides and playing with the hay to take pictures, but we did manage to get a couple good ones of him. He is really into balls these days, and not sure he really understood that while they might resemble a ball - a pumpkin is not a ball, and should not be pushed and rolled over the grass! Especially at a pumpkin patch!

Fun at the Park

We took the boys down the street to the playground and as always Carter really enjoyed climbing everywhere he could. He likes being able to do whatever Mason does and really liked the slide (don't worry, Mommy's right behind him, cropped out!). He was fun to watch because the static on the slides made for some pretty wild red hair!

Cookie Monster

Carter cannot get enough animal crackers. He is beyond having one in each hand. In fact, when we pick him up from school he's already getting ready for supper and starts fussing in the car until he has a few animal crackers to sooth him over.

Daddy's Little Man

Carter really took a liking to Daddy's tie this weekend. He probably sat there and wrapped himself up in it for a good fifteen minutes.

Little Jaquar Fan

Carter just loved being able to run around at the pep rally at the football field. He had his snack of animal cookies and just had all the ladies ooohing and aaaahhhhing.

A Hat!

Carter's been taking after his brother and copying everything, so here's Carter with his hat!

More Party Fun!

Carter is such a little man now. We didn't really have a 'theme' for this party, except the Big 1! so everything was just bright colors. This was the coolest cake, from the neighborhood HEB, and Carter got his own cake to dive into, although he didn't really want to. He was really hamming it up with his buddy Raegan, and she was such a great big helper!

Celebrate

It was quite a litte birthday celebration for Little Red! We kept it simple with chips and dips and the coolest of cakes ever (although there was colored icing ALL over everything and everyone!). Carter wasn't too into the cake or the presents, but sure loved the bag that his present from Landon and Raegan came in - so much that he walked around with the bag for the rest of the party!

12 Month Stats!

At his 12 month checkup, Carter weighed 24 pounds, 11 ounces (exactly triple his birth weight!) and is inches tall. He dropped out of the 80 and 90th percentile, but it was a new doctor, so that didn't sound right. And, he has an ear infection so we're on Augmentin for the next 10 days and we go back for a follow up appointment. We'll actually be going to a new doctor in San Antonio, since we wanted to see someone closer now that we've moved.

Happy 1st Birthday!!!

We celebrated Carter's first birthday with all the boys, even Wesley, with dinner at our new favorite Sausalito. Then we came home for cake and present. Carter really likes his new fire engine, and Mason was a big help in showing Carter how it worked (we're still convincing Mason that it is Carter's toy!). Unfortunately, Ike had plans on coming to town so we had to postpone Carter's birthday party until later, so more pictures to follow!

New Tricks!

Is 12 months too early to start table dancing?!! Carter has started climging on everything, and managed to climb atop their play table - with tons of encouragement from big brother of course.
Carter's new game he likes to play is to stick stuff under the gate and watch it fall down the stairs. He'll sit there for minutes on end and just send stuff falling down the stairs. You can tell how long he's been there by the amount of toys collected at the bottom of the stairs.

Inspiration!

One of my classmates from my online grad class sent us this link to a wonderful inspirational clip. It's only abour 4 minutes long, and you've seen/heard many of the sayings before, but it's a great little pick-me-up.

1st Haircut

Here is Carter's very first haircut, at Cool Cuts! Miss Karen did a great job (and didn't even charge us full price, thanks so much!!!). He wasn't too sure about things but never really cried. He bounced up and down a lot in the little car and even tried to take a bite or two out of Mommy's cheeck (this is one of his favorite things to do now, and he's not picky about who it is and what it is, just gotta make his teethies feel better!). He still has red hair, only it looks like a little boy now - just in time for his birthday Friday!

Carter, the Climber!

Carter LOVES to climb - on anything and everything. This is the perfect section of the playscape in the neighborhood because the climbing rocks have big sections so it's easier for him to climb up. He has made it up (and down!) several of the stairs at the house and has even tried to climb up the gates that keep him off of the stairs.

Kitchen Helper

Carter has found a new favorite spot at the new house, in the kitchen cabinet! This cabinet is just for the boys' things (sippy cups, plates, little forks and spoons) so it's not locked, and Carter loves to crawl everywhere, including INSIDE the cabinet!

Silly Face

Here's Carter's latest, a silly face. Not sure what he's doing, possibly teething, but he does this a lot. Is it a fish face?

Cool Dude

Here's Carter sporting his cook mohawk! He enjoyed a rub-a-dub with three boys in a tub when we ended up spending the night with John and Brittany the night we thought we'd be moving into the house. It turned out we weren't able to get the keys, but luckily we have a wonderful family who let us camp out with them for the night.

Mama's Little Helper

Carter tried to help Mama pack up some stuff for the big move. Mainly he and his brother just crawled in and out of the boxes after Mama taped them together. Sometimes a toy ended up in a box.

Packing Time

We started packing, but not without a little help from the boys! Looks like our move-in date will be next Saturday, after we help Hudson celebrate his birthday!

Wheeeeee!

Whamie helped Carter down the slide because he kept watching Mason and he just follows everywhere and everything that Mason does. Now Carter is hooked on the slide - he even wanted to keep going down the slide into their little pool the other day.

New Home - coming soon!!!

The future home of the Cone's! That interview we dropped Daddy off for paid off and he's now one of several assistant principals at the brand new Lady Bird Johnson high school in San Antonio. Mommy will start teaching in Schertz, and in the next few weeks, we'll be moving in to this house in San Antonio - just off IH35 and O'Connor. Mason and Carter will attend daycare with their buddies Hunter and Holten and get to go to chapel twice a week YEAH! This all happened quick so excuse us if we have forgotten to update!

Happy Anniversary

Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 4th anniversary at the Riverwalk, and it was Mommy's first time away from Carter overnight. Momo did great and the boys had a fun time.
