Ear Infection, part 2

Yesterday, Carter had a fever of 102.4 so he was sent home from school. We made it to the doctor's office today and he had an ear infection.

First Trip to Beach!

Carter had his first trip to the beach with the whole Hanna family. We let him get out of the stroller and sit on the blanket, but he really just wanted to explore the sand. Daddy thought it was a good idea to build up a little chair of sorts so he didn't fall over - even though he's doing a great job of sitting on his own and crawling now! He really liked playing in the pool and splashing in the water, and anytime he can watch his big brother Mason he's all smiles!

7 Months

Carter has had lots of doctor visits, so here's his stats at 7 months:
21 pounds, 6 ounces

He's cut a bottom tooth and started 'crawling', only I'm not sure if he knows he has knees because sometimes he'll put his bootie in the air. He moves real well doing the Army crawl, or he'll just roll.

Good News!

We still won't be certain for a while, but it looks like it is NOT asthma! Carter's levels yesterday looked great and his cough is gone for the most part. We are now weaning him off the breathing treatments. His ears did look bad though so we got some meds for that and we have a follow-up in two weeks. Hopefully by then we'll be off the breathing treatments (at least until the next 'season' appears).

Ear Infection, part 1

We had a follow-up appointment to check on Carter's coughing and ears. The cough looks great and it looks like it might not be asthma after all - yeah!!! But he had an ear infection so we stopped the meds for the cough and started some meds for the ears.

Breathe, Baby, Breathe!

Carter's had a cough off and on for a few weeks. He had such a bad day at daycare that I called to take him to the pediatrician. He did an RSV swab (negative, yeah!) and gave him a breathing treatment on a nebulizer. Actually, the nurse handed me the machine, told me how to hold Carter, told me to hold it on him for about 10 minutes and she left the room! We didn't have time to stop, so Mason was with me, running around the room trying to take the paper off the roll that goes on the exam table. That was the longest 10 minutes of my life!

Carter had a bit of an ear infection, so we got some meds for that. We went home and did pretty good over the weekend, but the cough didn't go away and was starting to wake him up at night. We went BACK to the doctor on Tuesday and the doctor seems to think it's asthma so we were prescribed our own nebulizer and meds and had a stright every-4-hours regimen for the first 24 hours. We went back the next day to check levels and things looked good so we dropped the middle of the night treatments and went to just every 4 hours during the day.

Carter's first Easter was pretty eventful. We started at The Harvey's for a fish fry and egg hunt. Then to Momo's for pizza and an egg hunt with the other cousins. Lots of confetti eggs were smashed, even on baby Carter! He didn't mind, as long as he could chew on his eggs.
