Merry Christmas 2009!

Carter gave Mommy some Christmas love this morning (which Mommy really needed since we had an early-morning visit to the ER with Mason!). Carter got into his stocking, and really loved his lollipop - in fact he tried to open his presents holding on to his lollipop! He really liked all his presents, and Mason's presents!

And there were sheep.....

This year the boys participated in the Nativity story at our church's Christmas Eve service. They were both sheep, and each had their own shepherd they were to stay with. Carter started off doing a great job standing perfect with his shepherd (I think Carter really liked the up-close view he had of the real live baby Jesus, or Delilah!) until a little ways into the gospel. He tried to make his brother stray with him, but Mason was telling him "no, don't do that". At the end, Carter was all smiles and clapping!

Road to Recovery

After a little sickness, Mommy and Daddy decided Carter was well enough to finally leave the house, so we took him to cash in a Build-a-Bear gift card. He was able to pick his own animal, wihtout any prompting from big brother, and he found a puppy! He loves puppy dogs (as long as they are behind a fence or far away!) so this was perfect! And on the way home, he got a Christmas card from Whamie and Pepaw and he was sooooo excited because it had Rudolph on it, and Carter is very into reindeers this year!

Sick Baby!

Mommy almost went an entire semester without getting a call from daycare to pick up a sick kiddo! Carter threw up at school on Tuesday (from all the phlem he had been coughing the night before, probably), and so we went to see the doctor on Wednesday. The RSV test came back positive this time! We started breathing treatments every 2 hours, some antibiotics and a steroid, and reported back to the doctor on Thursday.
Thursday we had to go across the street for a chest xray and luckily is was not pneumonia, but it was bronchitis, on top of RSV! More breathing treatments and a follow up to the doctor on Friday.
Friday the breathing sounded so much better, we can wean off breathing treatments, but added a daily dose of Pulmicort from here on out as a prevention. He is doing much better now, even though he had a rough night of some massive diarhea. Just in time for Santa!

Elmo!!!

Since one of Mason's Christmas gifts is to go see The Lion King at the Magestic with Momo and Mommy, we thought it fitting that Carter see something too. Thankfully, Elmo was in town so Mommy and Carter headed to the FREEMAN Coliseum to see Elmo. It was a great show and we had great seats, and only $5 parking! Carter did great and sat in his own seat the entire show, but he did keep his hand on my lap the whole time! He just watched and pointed and shouted when Big Bird or Elmo or Cookie Monster came out. The only thing he didn't like was when the monsters came out into the crowd.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our little wild animals! We went trick-or-treating in our new neighborhood and LOVED it --- we have such a great neighborhood now. The boys did a great job going up and saying "trick or treat", although Carter was a little tired so he was usually a few steps behind, but still in time for the treats!

Christmas comes early

We had a combination Thanksgiving/Whamie's Birthday/Christmas and Carter truly enjoyed himself. The day started with him admiring the standing water in the birdbath, until Robby (thankfully!) emptied the water. Carter is such a water boy and will play in it any chance he gets!
When I asked Carter what he wanted for Christmas, he told me "football game", so Robby and Trisha got him an A&M helmet and jersey, which he wore the rest of the day! He also really likes his new backpack, which he also tried to wear most of the day. And the Plasma car was another hit - keeping him busy for quite some time.

And the race is on!!!

So first picture is of Carter's first night in his new big boy bunk bed (Mason's on the top). He doesn't always stay in his own bed - but Mason has actually stayed in his every night!
This was the first time Hensley ran in a 1/2 marathon - thanks to Trisha for talking him into it. He did GREAT for his first time - the boys were so excited to see his medal (and get the snacks he gave them!). Next year, it'll be a true family affair - I'll put on my running shoes, too!

Pumpkin Fun

Our first trip to the pumpkin patch this year went okay. Carter didn't want his picture taken tat much so he kept getting in the way of Mason's good smiles, but we did get a good one with Mommy. Then we had some fun in the cut-outs.

New Night-Night Routine

When Momo was watching the boys, Carter wanted to try on his Halloween costume. He was so tired, he fell asleep in the chair.
We moved Carter's mattress on the floor in Mason's room to let them get used to sleeping in the same room, since they'll share a room when we move into the new house (next weekend!) - and here's the first night, at the beginning. It has actually gone pretty good. Mason reads in his bed, and Carter will try to get up and out of the room just like he did in his own room, so not much different!

Clever Carter

This summer I purchased a cheap little trash can from Target to keep in the truck and it has been AWESOME to have, and has kept the truck so much cleaner. It sits right in front of Carter's seat, and for some reason he decided to play with it this day. Luckily it was empty!

Giggles and Grins

A little late in the posting, but here's Carter reading and listening to his birthday card from Momo. It sings Happy Birthday, and he just loved listening to it. She had lunch with him at school that day and gave him the card then, and from what I hear I think the teachers were glad when Momo put the card back in his backpack!

2 year old stats

At his 2 year old checkup, Carter is now 30 1/2 pounds and 35 1/4" tall.
He's been having trouble getting to bed lately, but he does good if he can go sleep in
"Momo's" bed, or like he did here in Mason's bed.

Here he is in his Halloween costume.

Animals in Concert

Not sure just where all these singing animals came from (I know Momo left many here!), but the boys can't have just one singing animal - they must have the entire collection, all going at one time! There's not enough Tylenol in my medicine chest for this!

It's SpiderCarter

We went to Hudson and Cortland's house to help celebrate Momo's birthday with the family, and the other boys were dressing up in superhero costumes, so Carter had to dress up too (not sure if it was his choice or Uncle John's)! When he first came out, he had cool sunglasses on but that didn't last too long. He was so ticked when we took him to the mirror to look at himself. He didn't seem to notice he was still in costume when it came time for ice cream - he likes his ice cream!

Thumbs Up for Cake and Ice Cream!

Lots of birthdays this month - we went to Hunter's 4th birthday party at his house. Carter missed his nap but came close to taking one while he was eating the ice cream cake - which he did give a "thumbs up" for! It was ALL over him, and his shirt, and the chair!
After cake the boys played outside a while and it wasn't long before the bunch found the water hose - something about these four boys getting together, always brings out the water! Funny thing, they were using the neighbor's water hose! After cleaning up and getting into pajamas, Carter cuddled up with Aunt Jenny and Gracyn so he could give his baby girl some kisses!

Brush, Brush, Brush Your Teeth

Yep, he's a big boy now! Here's Carter brushing his teeth, all by himself! Mason wants to type a message: mnnnnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasoo
So he was going to type his name. We got all the write letters!

Sweeter Dreams

Carter's been a little difficult at bedtimes here lately. He reads a couple stories, then rocks, then goes to bed. He'll cry a little, come to the door but then we quietly put him back to bed - and repeat several times. The other night I went to give him his final night-night kiss and he wasn't in his bed. No biggie, a time or two we have found him asleep in Mason's doorway. He wasn't there. He had gone to Wesley/Momo's room and here's how I found him! Not sure if he's ready for a BIG big boy bed or just missing Wes or Momo?!!

YEEHAW - birthday fun begins

Thanks, Whamie and Pepaw, for our awesome new boots! Yeehaw! We got to show them off when we had an early birthday lunch for Carter at Clear Springs. Whamie and Pepaw had some presents for us - a cool new remote control car that goes up the walls! We played with those cars ALL day!!!

Me, Me, Me!!!

We aren't sure how or when this started, but whenever we ask the boys questions, Carter will always raise his hand and say "me, me, me" - kinda like that one annoying kid in school that can't sit still! So, here's a little video of it:

The Riverwalk with cousins

The Pancoast's came in from North Dakota for a visit and we were able to meet them on the Riverwalk for dinner. This was probably Carter's first time on the Riverwalk, but we didn't take too many pictures, until later when it was dark. He had fun playing with the girls - Laura and Anna really liked being a helper. Especially Anna, who helped grab Carter when he started to loose his balance and almost fall into the riverwalk! The kids loved it when the Mariachi singers came by and were playing music -so they started dancing!!!
